William Huddleston

WILLIAM HUDDLESTON was named for his uncle, William Huddleston, and for his grandfather William Cooper. They moved to Bedford Co, Va (near Roanoke) with his brothers, Daniel & Abraham and sister Huldah Montgomery about 1770. William may have fought in the Revolutionary War there, but then about 1785 he and Daniel moved west to Kanawha Valley, Va (now near Charleston, WV). There was a William Huddleston listed in an early Virginia census of 1801 living in the Armylands, Va. Military District. William died about 1817. All of his sons left the Valley and moved West.
William married Martha Myer on 19 Aug 1758. (Martha Myer was born about 1737 in Bucks Co. PA. and died after 1817.)
