Lloyd George Blue

  General Notes:

They were going to get married in J. V. Rose's garage, called Grandma Blue to tell them they were going to get a license and get married, she said wait 'till she got there and she rushed down to and told them they would have to wait. So they waited 'till the next week. When June told her mom that they were getting married she said she wouldn't come because Lloyd wasn't right for her. Grandma Blue put the wedding together at the ranch, Viola was her bridesmaid, Chuck McClain took pictures outside the house. Grandma Blue taught June to cook, and wash dishes and all the other things she didn't know how to do.

Grandma Blue had fallen and broken her arm, but wouldn't go to the hospital, Esther called the doctor and Grandma gave him such a hard time he left.

When Grandma Blue got sick her arm was paralyzed and she drove her old Chrysler over and honked until June came out and drove her to the hospital, turned out it was a blood clot, they operated to take it out and then a couple of days later she died of a heart attack. She wanted her daughter Bess to come out to see her so she came, got stuck in Salt Lake, finally made it, then went in to visit, then came out and June went back in and Grandma smiled and stopped breathing. From paper clipping in June Blue's collection with September 1942 written on the top of the clipping page: Mr. Lonsberry is building a house on his ranch and Lloyd Blue, Jr. is also building a house. Lloyd had the "Wee Paint Store" in Carbondale prior to going to Adak.

Lloyd married June Kirk, daughter of Herman Wellington "Henry" Kirk and Elsie Lois Downing, on 29 May 1938 in Blue Ranch, Catherine, Garfield, CO. (June Kirk was born on 8 Jun 1920 in Glenwood Springs, Garfield, Colorado and died on 3 Mar 2007 in Glenwood Springs, Garfield, Colorado.)
