Jacob Christman and his wife Elizabeth were residents of Westmoreland Co. On 23 Aug 1786, "Jacob Christman" purchased 300 Acres in Westmoreland Co., from "Provincial Papers: Warrantees of Land in the Several Counties of the State of Pennsylvania, 1730-1898" in Pennsylvania Archives, 3rd Series, 1897, Vol. XXVI]

On 9 Sept 1786, the name "Jacob Crisman" was listed in the Pittsburgh Gazette newspaper in a list of people with Delinquent taxes ["The People and Times of Western Pennsylvania. Events from July 1786 to Feb 1797 as reported in the Pittsburgh Gazette Newspaper" by Clara E. Duer, April 1985: Western Pennsylvania General Society, Pittsburgh., pg. A2]

In ["Pastors and People: German Lutheran and Reformed Churches in the Pennsylvania Field" by Charles H.
Glatfelter, Vol. 1: "Pastors and Congregations", 1980, Publication of the Pennsylvania German Society Number 13, page 442] it states: "Mount Pleasant, Ridge, Frey's": "These Congregations near the western base of Chestnut Ridge in Mount Pleasant township, Westmoreland Co., came into existence about 1782... the first school-house, purchased 1796... on June 6 of [1792] deeded to Matthias Ringle, Christian Lobinger, Jacob Christman, and Ruby Baer, trustees, three and one-half acres of land."
