bullet  General Notes:

Mr. Price was one of the best known ministers of the Brethren Church. Beginning in his youth to preach, he was widely known as the "Boy Preacher" and after many years of service, was affectionately called "Pappy" Price. He succeeded his father as Elder of the Coventry congregation in 1824 and for 46 years had charge of the same. He was an able preacher: was progressive and far-seeing. He early established a Sunday school in the church against much opposition and being forced to move it for a while to the shcoolhouse near by, he finally succeeded in having it returned. On his death bed he had some of the leaders who had opposed it , to promise that it should remain as a part of the church. He acquired the Coventry homestead and farmed it as well as ministering to a large congregation.
