Douglas Wayne "Chip" Romig, 44, of 268 Red Fox Lane, Chesnee, S.C., died suddenly Sunday, March 12, 2006, in Greensboro, N.C. He was the husband of Mary Lynn Green Romig. Mr. Romig was a native of Greensburg, and was a son of Jerry F. Romig, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Evelyn Pickett Romig Duffy, of Margate, Fla. He was a truck driver with J.L. Rothrock Trucking Company. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Blake Romig; a sister, Debra Lindy Rome-Veneklase, of Wellington, Fla.; and his maternal grandmother, Pearl Storm, of Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Blake Romig Education Fund, 260 N.W. 76th Ave., Apt. 101, Margate, FL 33063.
