James Cudworth
General Notes: James Cudworth was, with his wife Sarah, in Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA in 1634. He was in Barnstable in 1639 and in 1646 he was back in Scituate. He is known as General James Cudworth as he was Deputy Governor of Plymouth Colony, and in 1656 upon the death of Miles Standish in Duxbury, he succeeded him as Captain of the Militia. In 1658/9 he bought land in Freetown. His will was probated July 7, 1682. James married Sarah. (Sarah died in 1673.) |
