Paula was a clinical nurse, serving in the mother/baby unit of the Women and Children's Hospital at Charleston Area Medical Center. She was a graduate of the WVU School of Nursing. She was a former chairman of CAMC's Patient Education Committee and also served on the Education Council. She was education coordinator of CAMC's mother/baby unit. She was a member of the Charleston Christian Alliance Church, Kappa Delta Sorority, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honorary and the Charleston Chamber Music Society.
Paula married Thomas Vasale.
