"One of the men who built Col. Drake's derrick, he and then his sons followed the rig building contractor trade. In 1901 he moved to Texas, Hardin County, when the spindletop boom in southeast Texas began. He may have returned to PA for a short time before moving to Mooringsport, LA which had experienced an oil boom. "
George married Elizabeth Elder. (Elizabeth Elder was born in 1840 in Pennsylvania, died in 1878 and was buried in Truby-Rumbaugh Cemetery, Millers Edy, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.)
