Lillian Dumas
General Notes: During WWII, Lillian worked as a telephone operator and later was promoted to the engineering department. She married her GI husband in July 1945 and the war ended while they were on their honeymoon. From 1980-86, Lillian was co-owner of M&L Tax Service in Elm Grove, and prepared taxes until 2008. She was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elm Grove, singing in the choir, serving as lector and Eucharistic Minister, and for many years leading the Third Order of Mary. She also enjoyed writing, traveling and was a champion bowler. Her life was devoted to serving God, her family and her community. Lillian married William Richard Lauffer, son of Harry Paul Lauffer and Mary Magdalene Vogt. |
