He arrived on the ship "Billender Townsend" 5 Oct. 1737, settled in NC near the Catha River in the South Fork County in what is now Gaston Co. He build a log shanty and cleared the ground. Around 1747, he started back to Pa to look for a wife, but while camping out overnight, met a Peter Hoyle who was moving from MD to NC with his family. Sebastian eventually married Peter's daughter. He was a Pvt. in a militia company formed under Capt. Samuel Coburn to defend against Indian attacks. He was a tailor and farmer. ![]() Sebastian married Elizabeth Catharina Heyl (Hoyle) in 1750 in Anson County, North Carolina.
