Richard Allanson retired as a farmer and stock-dealer in Stockton, Illinois. Richard first engaged in the livestock business when seventeen years of age, and has followed that occupation continuously for the last forty years, and in connection with that enterprise, conducted his 260-acre farm in Berreman Township.
Richard married Sally Dadswell, daughter of Unknown and Hannah Hobbs, on 30 Aug 1863 in Kane County, Illinois. (Sally Dadswell was born on 28 Aug 1843 in Sussex, England, died on 22 Oct 1909 and was buried in Stockton, Jo Daviess County, Illinois.)
