General Notes:
At a very young age (only 8 or 9) Glenn and Don's parents William and Catherine Lauffer divorced. William worked in a coal mine in Export later moved to Hill Valley where he farmed and hunted. The young boys, Glenn and Don were sent to work on separate farms, for the privileges of a hot meal and a straw tick in the barn. Meanwhile, the young daughter, Lorraine, stayed with Catherine. Apparently neither parent could provide for the boys. Glenn held no animosity towards his parents and in later years he did all he could for them maintaining a very warm relationship. Glenn had a job with mules dragging wood out of the mountain. Glenn grew up and married Geraldine (Parson). Glenn served with the US Army in France during WWII. His son Norman was born while Glenn was overseas. On returning home Glenn and Geraldine bought the Red Bridge Motel and Diner in Chambersburg Pa. It was one of the first of this type of establishment in the State of Pa. Glenn continued to work at Letterkenny Army Depot until he retired. Their son Stephen was born .in 1954. Norm born in 1945, graduated high school in 1963 and joined the United States Marines, serving in Vietnam during that war. After leaving the service he kept up the Lauffer tradition of Inn keepers and bought the Rite Spot Motel and Restaurant in Fayetteville Pa.
Glenn married Francis Geraldine Glova Parson.
