General Notes:
Carl was a professional photographer. He served in WW II as an Army photographer and also played saxaphone in an Army band that toured the western states in 1943. Upon discharge from the Army in August 1944, he and "Betty" returned to Irwin where they opened a photo studio on Main Street. In 1955, they closed the studio and moved to Springfield where Carl managed the camera department at the local Sears store. In the '60's Carl and "Betty" went into other business endeavors owning an operating a resort motel in Rockaway Beach, MO , owning apartment buildings and selling real estate. During this time, "Betty" owned and operated a dress shop in Springfield called "Ms Persnickety".
Carl married Hellen Betty Daniels, daughter of Walter C. Daniels and Sarah S. Iveson, on 8 Dec 1942 in Irwin, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. (Hellen Betty Daniels was born on 27 Aug 1921 in Irwin, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, died on 6 Oct 2003 in Springfield, Green County, MO and was buried in Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, MO.)
