John was a Police Constable. in 1861 he and his family resided in the civil parish of Edinburgh Old Church, Midlothian County at 268 Cannongate Hapes Land. John moved to Glasgow area 1850.

This is not well verified.

John married Mary. (Mary was born in 1831 in Ireland.)
