Mrs. Ada Martin, of Latrobe, took her life on Saturday, June 2, by drinking a quantity of carbolic acid. She was formerly Ada Frankenberg, her home being in New Castle. Several years ago she spent one summer in Indiana. Later she was married to Frank Martin, of Irwin, and took up housekeeping in Latrobe. Mr. Martin died about years ago and his wife has been melancholy ever since. It was this that prompted her to drink the acid. Mr. Martin was well known in Indiana, having several relations living here.
Ada married Frank E. Martin, son of Joseph Brady Martin and Elizabeth Lauffer, in 1891 in Latrobe, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. (Frank E. Martin was born on 3 Aug 1856 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and died in May 1905 in Cambridge Springs.)
