Dorothy Louise Winfield

Dorothy Berlin, 88, of Penn Township, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 27, 1911, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Albert J. and Edith Walters Winfield. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas, Howard, Wilbur, Roy and Albert Winfield; four sisters, Martha Trees, Ruth Schmidt, Mary Winfield and Lila Turgeon; and a son-in-law, Charles Anderson. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Francis M. Berlin; a son, Alvin Berlin, and his wife, Elaine, of Harrison City; two daughters, D. Vivian Anderson of Irwin and Darlene Stankewich and her husband, Henry, of Homer City; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Martin R. Koss officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Penn Township. Members of the Harrison City Fire Department will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for services.

Dorothy married Francis M. Berlin, son of Israel Roy Berlin and Garnet W. Waugaman.
