Joseph first married Mercy Pinion, daughter of Thomas Pinion & Mercy [Pinion]. Mercy was baptized in First Congregational Society, New Haven on 27 Sep 1696.1 She was baptized as an adult.

vi. Hannah, b. 1 Sep 1709 at East Haven, m. at Branford 5 Dec 1733 Jonathan Byington.1

Joseph second married Joanna Farnum, daughter of Peter Farnum & Hannah Wilcoxson (19 Jan 1666-6 Feb 1708). Born in 1687.1 Joanna died on 13 Sep 1742 in East Haven, CT.66
