Lewis' father, David was born in Ohio, and his grandfather. Henry Huddleston was from Virginia. Lewis served with the Fourteenth Battery Light Artillery, Indiana Volunteers, from March 11, 1862 to March 20, 1865. When he returned he married, Eliza Jane Malott, (She lived with her grandparents most of her life, so she used the name of Reeves on her marriage Certificate), on September 21, 1865, in Somerset, Wabash County, IN. She is the daughter of Andrew "Leander" Jackson and Zoa (Zoah) Camarene (Reeves) Malott. Eliza was born April 4, 1846, in Brown County, Ohio and died January 11, 1893, in Somerset, Wabash County, Indiana. Lewis died, December 19, 1919. They are buried in the Somerset Cemetery, Waltz Township, Wabash County, IN. Lewis Huddleston was a cabinet maker and decorator,<b> </b>who did skilled work, like graining wood, stenciling and painting the delicate scrolls and stripes used to decorate fine buggies and wagons.
Louis married Eliza Jane Mallott, daughter of Andrew Jackson (Leander) Malott and Zoa Reeves, on 21 Sep 1865 in Somerset, Wabash Co. In. (Eliza Jane Mallott was born on 4 Apr 1846 in Brown Co.
