Iddings obtained a BA degree from Franklin & Marshall College and a B.Div from Lancaster Theological Seminary. He taught at Pitcairn High School, Pitcairn, Allegheny Co., PA, from about 1928 until his illness in 1945.
Joseph married Beulah Grace Kline, daughter of John Walter Kline and Margaret Textor, in Aug 1928. (Beulah Grace Kline was born on 13 Jul 1889 and died on 17 Feb 1958.)
