Johan Heinrich Lauffer

  General Notes:

Records from the original Reformed Church in Weisenheim am Sand, Germany show that Heinrich was baptised on 25 March 1683. The sponsors, God Parents, were Oswald Weih and his wife Maria. Previous records indicate 25 March as his birthdate. It would be assumed that his birthdate was a short time prior to his baptism date.

There still remains questions on children of Heinrich. The church records state Heinrich and his first wife Feronica had four children but names and other details are not known. Heinrich and Anna Catharina had five children of which our ancestor Christian was one.

Christian would have been eight years old when he came to America with his Anna Catharina and his brother Lorentz. This would make the youngest child of Heinrich and Feronica around 15 at the time Christian left Germany.

Johan married Feronica Caspar, daughter of Melchior Caspar and Unknown, on 7 Sep 1718. (Feronica Caspar was born in 1687 in Dackenheim, Germany and died on 11 Oct 1717.)

Johan next married Anna Catharina Schmidt, daughter of Wilhelm Schmidt and Anna Elizabetha Pfeifer, on 7 Sep 1718. (Anna Catharina Schmidt was born in 1696 in Weisenheim Am Sand, Bad Durkheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany and died on 3 Jun 1772 in Gosenhoppen, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.)

Johan next married Maria Francisca.
