Ralph Mac Sanders
General Notes: Ralph Sanders moved to Iowa in 1860. He enlisted in the Civil War on 21 July, 1864 at Davenport, Iowa, in Company I, 10th Regiment, Iowa Infantry. He was discharged on 15 April, 1865, at Little Rock, AR. His description at enlistment: 5'5-1/2" tall, light complexion, hazel eyes, light hair. He served with General Sherman's troops during the famous" march to the sea" which devastated that section of Georgia. After the war, Ralph returned to Jasper County. Iowa, where his parents lived. Ralph married Narcissa "Priscilla" Coulter, daughter of Samuel Coulter and Maria Bash, on 31 May 1869 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa. (Narcissa "Priscilla" Coulter was born on 19 May 1853 in Mercer County, PA, died on 19 Apr 1939 in Rhodes, IA and was buried in Eden Cemetery East Of Rhodes, IA Beside Her Husband.) |
