Sigourney; born in Tuscarawas Co, Ohio, August 2, 1 827; he was there raised on a farm and lived there until 1855, when he ca me to this county and settled where he now lives; he owns one hundred a nd nineteen acres of good land, well improved; has on his land a fine bear ing orchard; August 28, 1862, he enlisted in Company F, Fifth Iowa Infantr y; served fifteen months and was then discharged on account of disabilit y; he participated in several small battles; he married, in 1850, Miss Cat harine E. Williams, a native of Ohio; they have four children: Hannah E. ( now Mrs. Randall), Franklin, George and Edward.
