Elisha enlisted in the Union Army March 30, 1864. He served in the Ohio Unit Number: 1875. He was a private at the age of 22. He also served in Company E, 45th Infantry Regiment and Company U, 51st Infantry Regiment Ohio.
Elisha married Mary Elizabeth Jones in Oct 1860. (Mary Elizabeth Jones was born on 4 Jul 1844 and died in 1903.)
