John Bushyager Soles
From the memories of Linda Soles: "John B. "Pap Pap" Soles was a quiet man and one that I did not get to know very well as her died when I was about five years old. He operated a Sunoco gas station at the corner of West Pittsburgh Street and Westminster Ave. following his 26-year employment with the West Penn Railways as a streetcar conductor. He would often give us candy while we were at the gas station - Chuckles - which were gum candies - red, orange, yellow, green and black.
John married Flora Ann Margaret Leonard, daughter of Harry David Leonard and Emma Miller, on 12 Sep 1911. (Flora Ann Margaret Leonard was born on 17 Mar 1890 in Jeannette, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, died on 8 May 1980 and was buried on 12 May 1980 in Jeannette Memorial Cemetery, PA.) |
