John Druck, also known as Drook, and his wife Saloma came to Indiana in 1816 from Shenandoah Co., Va. He settled in Union Co., Ind. He was a farmer and all of his family was born there. His brother George joined him in 1818. George married Damarius Rambo but soon returned to Va., John moved his family to Richland Township Grant Co., Ind in 1842
This was the time that government lands were opened. He entered 160 acres in section 22. This is where he lived until his death in 1868.
John married Saloma Fosher, daughter of Daniel Fosher and Marillus Eagle (Eckel), in 1816 in Grant Co. In. (Saloma Fosher was born on 12 Nov 1798 in Bedford Co. VA, died in 1883 in Grant Co. In. and was buried in Drook/Parson Cemetery, Grant Co. In..)
