William Garfield Darr

   Another name for William was Billy.

  General Notes:

Grandpa Darr was not really active outside of working. My most vivid memory is his rocking chair. Nobody sat in his chair. He never raised his voice or was angry (at least in my memory).
Every year, we had a carnival in town and he was the ticket taker for the ferris wheel. Every year, you could count on him to buy us a ticket so we could ride free. What a great treat!
Grandpa Darr didn't drive as he wrecked a car at a young age and never bought another one. He worked at a cigar factory until he was 82 years old. My uncle either took him to work or he took the bus.

William married Ida Ferree. (Ida Ferree was born on 24 Apr 1885, died on 10 Apr 1982 and was buried in Salem Lutheran Church, Jacobus PA.)
